    • Sports News (23 November) The Basketball Championship games continued with the second stage. The break was taken because of the new virus shattering our country. ASEM rolled over Spartak, with 75:57, but the winners' coach, Vasile Scutelnic was not satisfied with the game of his team, blaming it on the break that occurred in the championship.   ASEM best scorer was Vitalie Oprea, with 18 points, while for the guests, Oleg Lucaşenco has gathered 14 points. There were played three games of the first round of the Moldova Cup quarterfinals. Zimbru defeated at home Olimpia, 3-1, Iskra-Stal rolled over Dinamo Bender, score 2-0, while FC Tiraspol and Dacia drew 0-0. The fourth match, between Sheriff and Academia, will be played next year. Sheriff reached the quarterfinals last night, after a 5-0 victory versus Rapid. The National leader in the chess competition, Viorel Bologan started up victoriously the most important chess tournament of the year, the World Cup organized in Russian city Khanty-Manssisk. Bologan defeated Ahmed Adli from Egypt.  Tottenham had fun with Wigan in the game of the 13th round of the Premier League competition, score 9-1. Jermain Defoe has netted 5 goals. If Tottenham had not been scored that goal, it would have reached the record of 9-0 versus Bristol Rovers, established 30 years ago.
