Transfer boom in Moldova

Sheriff's Jymmy França will spend the next six months with Chornomorets Odesa, Mihail Paseciniuc transferred from Olimpia to Volga and Dacia parted with their Georgian leaders.

Two Moldovan top teams parted with their first-team players for several reasons. Sheriff loaned Brazilian forward Jymmy França to Chornomorets Odesa while Dacia cancelled their contract with Georgians грузинами Levan Korgalidze and David Gamezardashvili who expressed their desire to leave the Chişinău side. Besides, Olimpia arranged one the most successful transfers in their history - Mihail Paseciniuc transferred to FC Volga Nizhny Novgorod.

França has spent two and a half years with Sheriff. He won his second national title with Sheriff in the 2009/2010 season and was named the best striker of the Championship. He scored two goals in 25 UEFA matches. The 27-year-old forward will play with Chornomorets until the end of the year when the Ukrainian Premier will be able to buy the player.

In the meantime, Dacia said goodbye to two first-team players. Midfielder Korgalidze who was called the best player of the Moldovan Championship 2010/2011 by UEFA.com and defender Gamezardashvili were the Chişinău side's leaders. But, after a poor performance in the Champions League, the players and the club decided to cancel their contracts by mutual consent.

"The reason of my departure is the Champions League match against Zestafoni," said Gamezardashvili before his departure. "This is football life. Footballers are always living out of suitcases. I will have sweet memories of Moldova. I spent a good year here and helped Dacia to win their first championship title."

Another big transfer of Moldovan football concerns 20-year-old midfielder Paseciniuc of FC Olimpia Bălţi who moved to Russian Premier League FC Volga Nizhny Novgorod. Right after that, the club announced the signing of Shotaro Okada, the first Japanese footballer in Moldova.
