Sports tourism museum opened in Moldova

The first museum of sports tourism in our country opened in Chişinău. Old ice axes, safety lines, newspaper scraps, many photographs and the entire history of Moldavian alpinism are now gathered in one place.

Over two hundred museum pieces are displayed at the hall of the Milescu Spătaru Lyceum. The patriotic stand dedicated to World War II is considered to be the most valuable by visitors. It includes the historical reminders of the 1940s found by Moldavian tourists during their trips. The idea to create this museum was suggested by the tourist club "Travers".

The first visitors of the museum were the young tourists and travelers studying at the Milescu Spătaru Lyceum. They tried to find themselves at the pictures and were very interested in historical pieces.

Admission to the museum is free. The organizers promise that new valuable pieces will be added to the collection of the museum of sports tourism on a regular basis.
