Moldova hosted an International mini water-polo tournament

The second International mini water-polo tournament, as the last year one ended withthe victory of theRussian team "Moscow", coached by the famous Moldavian sportsmanAlexei Vdovin. Thetournament was dedicated to the Victory Day on May, 9th and gathered 12 clubs fromRomania, Russia and Moldova. In the final game of the competition, played onMay 9, the Russians from theMoscow squad were better thanthe hosting team"Alligator" from Chișinău.

Oleg Volcu, thePresident of the Moldova Water Polo Federation: - Is the day of victory, the triumph of good over evil, over fascism. The fascism was defeated bythe Romanians, Russians, Jews, Germans. We uniteto prove to the politicians, that we can leaveotherwise. And this day shall unite people and notdivide them in different groups.

A team of mini-water polo includes four players. At the same timeplay twoteams in the same pooland the team scoringfour goals wins the game.

In Moldova is just asingle poolto practice this type of sport. However, water polo is considered a sport with a bright future in Moldova.
