A great row troubles the Moldova Boxing Championship. The management of the Rolaco club is dissatisfied by the refereeing of its boxers to the tournament. The referees' mistakes were pointed out by the organizers of the national championship, but the behavior of the club's president was also condemned.
"The referees were constantly unfair to me during my sporting career on the international scene, now it has happened in the championship of Moldova. The referees support the great clubs, and let down the younger ones", - says ROLACO club coach, Octavian Ţîcu.
The referees' championship committee acknowledged the mistakes, calling them as technical.
"I would not say that there is some sympathy for some individuals, clubs. Boxing is a difficult sport, thus it is difficult to judge. The referee who was wrong, had already been removed", - said the Chief referee of Moldova Boxing Championship, Anatolie Caigorodov.
The representatives of the Rolaco club have renounced to participate in the National championship in favor of the Romanian one.
"We have numerous judges who are burying athletes. Our club will no longer cooperate with the federation of amateur boxing in Moldova. We are going to perform in Romanian tournaments", - emphasized the Rolac coach, Octavian Ţîcu.
