The Moldavian Chess players obtained 3 victories at the European Chess Championship

The Chess Players Viorel Bologan, Viorel Iordachescu and Dumitru Svetuschin were victorious in the 10th round of the European Chess Championship, organised in Budva, Montenegro.

With the white pieces, Bologan was better than Alexandr Huzman from Israel, while Iordachescu, playing with the black ones managed to defeat another player from Israel, Ido Porata. At the same time, Svetuschin was victorious in front of the player form Greece, Atanasios Mastrovalis. Our last representative at this tournament, Sergiu Vedmediuc, drew with the player form turkey, Emre Can.

Only Viorel Bologan still preserves some chances to climb the podium, a round before the final. The Moldavian player has an amount of 7 points, with 0,5 less than the 9 above positioned chess players. It is curious that in the 11th round they will have to play against each other. Bologan will meet on the 6th chessboard with Rauf Mamedov from Azerbaijan.

Viorel Iordachescu and Dumitru Svetuschin have by 6.5 points each, and in the last round will have the 17th and respectively the 18th chessboards with the russian players. Iordachescu will have the white pieces against Boris Savcenco, while Svetuschin the black ones trying to defeat Dmitri Bociarov.

Sergiu Vedmediuc has 5 points from 10 possible and in the last round his opponent is going to be David Larino from Spain.

The 11th round will be followed by the tie-breack matches.
