Dumitru Svetuschin is the winner of the President’s Cup Tournament

The grand master Dumitru Svetuschin from Moldova became the winner of the 3^rd edition of the International Chess Championship "The President's Cup".

He gathered 7,5 points from a possible of 9 - with half a point more than the following two positioned, Vladislav Nevednicii (Romania) and Viorel Iordachescu (Moldova).

The winner was offered by the organizers with a sum of 20 thousands lei (about 2000$).

The beholders of the 2^nd and the 3^rd places were rewarded with 15 thousands lei, and respectively 10 thousands lei. The money prizes were also given to the following 7 positioned.

In the Women's contest the winner became the great master Svetlana Petrenco, being followed by Irina Bulmaga and Elena Partac.

In the junior contest the winner became Mihail Bizovi from Chisinau, who gathered an amount of 7,5 points.

At the rewarding festivity were present numerous VIP persons, among them could be noticed also our president, Vladimir Voronin and the World Chess Federation President, Kirsan Iliumjinov.
