Universal Fighting. New Medals at the World Championship

The Moldavian sportsmen returned from the Universal Fighting World Championship, organized in the Russian town Kaliningrad, with three medals. Pavel Pocatilov, who competed within the 85 kg weight category, is the only beholder of the gold medal. The sportsman borned in Transnistria is the graduate of the "Stefan cel Mare". Pocatilov was rewarded with 3500 $ for his performance.

A bronze medal was won by Ion Zavtoni, within the weight category of 80 kg.  Radu Baranov was also on the third position, even if his history witnesses the title of a double world champion. Zvatoni and Baranov got 500 $ each. All those three winners are working in the Ministry of Internal Affairs.  

The World Championship in Kaliningrad gathered together sportsmen from 37 countries all over the world.

Pavel Pocatilov, the world champion:
- We proved that in Moldova there are a lot of talented fighters. This is my first important success on an international arena. We have to keep on trying and improving ourselves.  

Ion Zavtoni, the bronze beholder:
- A very important moment in our preparation for this championship was the formation of the «MIX FIGHT ELAT CLUB, where, by the way, we are training. We have all we need over here.

Radu Baranov, the bronze beholder:

- This is not the best I can do. It matters that I'm back home with a medal. I will be much better at the following world championship.
