The Moldavian Andrei Gorban did not manage to reach the 3rd preliminary tour of the International Tournament, the Kremlin Cup, organised for the 20th time in Moscow.
In the first tour, Gorban, in two sets with 6-2, 6-2, was better than the russian Roman Kisleancov. In the second round, our tennis player was defeated by the Ukrainian Serghei Stahavschi (the 112th position in the ATP classment) with 3-6, 3-6, being, in this way, sent off the competition. This is the 8th defeat in this season in those 10 played games.
It is important to point out that the 26 years old Andrei Gorban is the single Moldavian representative present at the tournament in Kremlin, a competition offering rewards valuing more than te 2 millions dollars.
In the ATP classment, reviewed in October, Andrei Gorban is on the 588th position with 46 points and still preserves the first position in Moldova. Among the first World 1000 tennis players there are other two Moldavians: Roman Tudoreanu - the 776th position and Radu Albot - the 894th place.
