The 12th title won at the National Greeko-Roman Wrestling Champiosnhip

With a battle that lasted only 25 seconds ended up the National Championship of Moldova at the Greco-Roman Wrestling. Within the weight category of 84 kilograms, Igor Malai proved to be better than Sergiu Zgherea from Tiraspol.

If Iurie Malai has returned to the National Wrestling Championship after a break of 4 years, Tudor Gaivan has won the 12^th title in his career.

The squad from Tiraspol was led by Iosif Gheris from Bender, the well-known coach of the Republic of Moldova.

One of the most curious final battles proved to be the one within the weight category of 96 kg. Anatol Moldovan from Ialoveni stepped on the field as the favorite in the game versus Adrian Mocanu from the same town. After a draw, the fate of the match was decided in the third half. Adrian Mocanu leads a surprising attack, which brought him the victory and the highest title.

The final battles were attended by Iurie Ţap, the vice-president of the Moldavian Parliament. 

Present at the opening ceremony of the competition, the Minister of Youth and Sports, Ion Cebanu, consideres that the level of organization still needs some investments. 

At the same time was organized the International WrestlingTournament - Nicolae Oriol is inviting, which gathered 350 athletes from Moldova, Ukraine, Russia and Romania. The competition, organized for the 4^th consecutive time, was set up this time by the disciples of the well-known coach of Moldova, Nicolae Oriol. The President of the National Wrestling Federation, Oleg Dragan tells us more about the tournament.

Nicolae Oriol considers the tournament as a means of checking the level of the wrestlers' readiness to compete on the international arena.  
 
The National Championship was the last training stage before the European Championship which will be held in April in Baku, Azerbaijan.
