Igor Oprea: "I would like to restore Zimbru's once-glorious traditions"

Newly appointed FC Zimbru president Igor Oprea is not new to the club. His appointment feels like a homecoming rather than an arrival.

- I would like to restore Zimbru's once-glorious traditions and contribute to the further development of children's and junior football in the club, told Opre to the club's official site.

I want to unite the team for more efficient goal-achieving, I want people not to do their job mechanically but to put life into work, understanding that they do it for the football team and the people who defend the colors of Zimbru.

Football is our common cause, whether you are a mechanic or a waitress working in the club's restaurant. The work of every person creates an atmosphere that has an impact on the coaching staff, players and results".

I want the atmosphere in and around the team to be as favorable as possible for coaches and players training for Moldova Football Championship games. I am just getting into the swing of the work for now. The more I learn, the more I understand how great my responsibility is. I believe that I don't have a right to make mistakes.

- Will Zimbru be able to get into the UEFA zone based on the results of the Championship?

- We have lost many points and have many difficult games ahead. The next one will be on Saturday against Sheriff. I don't want to make empty promises but the team will do everything possible to fix this situation.
