FC Sfintul Gheorghe president Valeriu Reniță has recently discussed the artificial turf football field in Suruceni on an Internet site.
The Panorama newspaper asked Moldova Football Federation spokesman victor Daghi to explain this situation.
Reniță says in his statement that "his artificial turf was approved in autumn and disqualified in winter though there were no visible changes". We found out that the turf was approved not in autumn, but in summer, before the Championship's start when it had not been damaged by rain showers and underground water yet. The artificial turf was laid three years ago, breaching regulations, norms and procedures of foundation laying. As a result, the earth bed below the foundation was depressed, as well as the foundation and the turf (see the attached photos).
Reniță's statement also says: "I think that our football Federation made a serious mistake by not letting us play home and disqualifying our Suruceni stadium, yielding to the pressure of certain football officials and a well-known club." Blaiming the MFF, the president of the Suruceni-based club forgot to mention that he is a member of the MFF Executive Committee. It means that blaming the MFF, he also blames himself. Moreover, when this situation with the field in Suruceni was discussed at the meeting of the Committee on March 14, Reniță agreed that the turf was unsuitable for playing matches.
Valeriu Reniță's double game became obvious when he asked the Football Federation to allocate funds for a new filed with artificial turf. This means that he knows that the field is unfit for play.
