Chişinău team to vie for Zaporozhye Christmas Cup

The 16th Christmas Boys U-13 Cup kicked off at the Zaporozhtransformator sports complex. Nine teams participate in the tournament. Moldova is represented by the team of the city of Chişinău. The Russian Federation is represented by the teams of Chelyabinsk, Krasnoyarsk and the Moscow Oblast and Ukraine - by the squads of Melitopol and Zenkov (Poltava Oblast). Three teams play for Zaporozhye - the team of the Lagutin Handball School and U-13 and U-12 teams from the ZTR SCYSSOR.

- We invited Russian, Moldavian and Ukrainian teams to participate in our traditional Christmas Cup, says ZTR SCYSSOR principal Vladimir Harchenko. - Seven teams accepted the invitation. This tournament is a preparatory stage for the Ukrainian Championship "Swift Ball" final. The most interesting part of the tournament is that it brought together different handball schools, there is much to look at. Children's coaches from Moldova and Krasnodar are very experienced. I think that these teams will be strong competition for squads from Zaporozhye. We invited experienced referees to officiate the tournament. Andriy Kulachek and Maxim Eskov who officiate the Ukrainian Handball Premier League matches are among them. We also have prepared an entertainment program - a trip to the Museum of History of Zaporizhian Cossacks at the Khortitza Island.
