Moldovan athlete Mariana Eşanu won a gold medal in the 59 kg weight category at the European Freestyle Wrestling Championship held in Zrenjanin, Serbia.
The Moldova representative captured victories in all five fights and received a well-deserved gold medal.
Last year Mariana Eşanu won the European Cadet Championship. Interestingly enough, the tournament was also held in Zrenjanin, Serbia.
Another Moldova representative, Emilia Budeanu (44 kg), won the first fight but lost the second one while Еlena Ţurcan (51 kg) and Maria Iacob (67 kg) were eliminated in the opening fights.
lulia Leorda (48 kg), Maria Gaidau (55 kg) and Ecaterina Rusu (63 kg) will have their fights today, on June 24.
The European Championship will be over on June 26.
