Ion Luchiţa seizes silver medal at World Championship

Moldovan athlete Ion Luchiţa seized a silver medal at the World Junior Wrestling Championship held in Bucharest, Romania.

The Moldovan Greco-Roman wrestler easily defeated Tepal Katri (India) 5-0 in the first fight and beat Esengeldi Kojonbek Uulu in the next one. Ion Luchiţa faced Romanian wrestler Florian Mocanu who had large support in the quarterfinals and won again (4-0).

The fight in the semifinals against Ellis Coleman (USA) was quite tense but the American wrestler could not do much against Luchiţa and lost 0-2.

Ion Luchiţa faced Chingiz Labazanov (Russia) in the final and lost 0-3, settling for the silver medal.
