Vasile Chirtoca maintains his function of the Boxing Federation President

Vasile Chirtoca was reelected as the president of the Moldova Boxing Federation for the next 4 years.
His name was voted by all the members of the General Assembly.

Nicolae Savcov has also maintained his job. He will continue his activity as the general secretary of the Federation. Petru Caduc was declared the president of the Coach Commission. FIBA Referee, Alexanru Kaigorodov, is responsible for the referees' activity. Moldova Boxing Federation was declared as the best one of the past year, according to the Sport Agency. Vasile Chirtoca has been administrating the Federation since 1993 and is known for rewarding the brilliant sportsmen' achievements with great prizes, among which were also automobiles.

2008 was the most successful year in the history of the vernacular boxing. Veaceslav Gojan has won at the beginning of this year a medal at the tournament organized in Debrecen. Alexandru Râscan has climbed the first step of the podium. At the very same tournament, Igor Samoilenco was the second, while Alexandru Papusa and Igor Conobeev brought home the bronze medals.

The most important reward for the Moldovian sport of the 2008 year, was of course the bronze medal won by Gojan at the Olympic Games in Beijing.

After that followed the bronze medals obtained at the European Championship in Liverpool, by Victor Cotiujanschi and Alexandru Râscan.

And finally, the World Cup in Moscow, increased the Moldovian medals record track. Remarkable was Veaceslav Gojan's performance, who became the beholder of the silver medal and Mihai Muntean, the winner of the bronze one.

We have pointed out just the main starters conquered by our brave boxers. There were organized other numerous tournaments, such as the National Junior Championship, the National Senior Championship, were performed matches between Moldova and Israel, Russia and Maroc stuffs.
