Gheorghe Boghiu signs with FC Azal

Milsami Orhei striker Gheorghe Boghiu has transferred to Azerbaijani FC Azal, according to the club's official site. Though the contract with the Moldovan side was supposed to expire next year, Boghiu decided to leave the team.

- We had a verbal agreement with Gheorghe that we will let him go if he receives an offer from a foreign club. This is why we arranged the transfer as soon as he asked us. We will try to find a worthy forward who will be able to replace our last season's striker, said Milsami Orhei vice president Petru Jardan.

Gheorghe Boghiu joined Milsami Orhei last summer. Boghiu became the best forward of last season's Moldova Championship with 26 goals scored. The forward signed a one-year contract with FC Acal. He might debut for his new team in the home match against Neftchi Baku even today.
