Judo fighters awarded medals in 13 events

Junior judo fighters from Moldova, Ukraine and Romania were awarded medals in 13 events at an international championship in Chişinău. The tournament brought together 15 teams and over 130 participants.

Ion Cujba, organizer of the tournament (Moldova judo national team assistant coach):

 "We have many athletes of this age and we organize this tournament not only for our judo fighters, but also for those from abroad, because they are our Olympic hopes. If they do not participate in such tournaments, they will not experience the  taste of victory".

Ana-Larisa Roşca, champion:

 "I like this tournament very much, there are foreign participants here and that is why it is very interesting".

Next year the organizers plan on not just increasing the number of participants but also expanding their geography. Who knows, perhaps, future world champions and Olympics winners will claim their first victories at this tournament.
