Wrestling Federation chooses best athletes

The National Federation is not only supervising the preparation for the 2012 Olympics qualifying tournaments, but also organizing the selection of Olympics reserves.

The Wrestling Federation chose the best freestyle wrestlers, candidates for the European and World Cadet Championships.

Most hopes are pinned on Leorda, the silver medal winner of the 2010 Singapore Youth Olympics.

Petru Buiucli, Moldova merited coach:

 "We have won medals at the European and World Championships for a few years, sometimes  a few, and sometimes five. We hope to succeed this year as well. Everything will depend on us, on how well we will prepare athletes for the deciding stage".

European Youth Women's Wrestling Championship winner Mariana Eșanu was also present at the competitions:

"My brother Mihai is the man who brought me to the wrestling gym for the first time. I started training at Călărași Sports School with Constantin Cobilean at the helm. This coach helped to become the European champion".

In his turn, Mihai Eșanu earned the first spot in the Under-50 kg category. Eșanu's colleague, Vasile Boldurescu, became Moldova's champion in the Under-76 kg weight category.

As expected, most of the winners come from the Republican Sports Lyceum.
