Moldovan Greco-roman wrestler Ion Luchiţă won a silver medal at the World Youth Championship held in Bucharest. Luchiţă won four fights in the 66 kg weight category but lost the final to Russian Chingiz Labazanov.
Another Moldovan representative, Maxim Mamulat, stopped one step away from the podium. He triumphed in three fights but lost the fourth one to a Polish wrestler and then was defeated by an Iranian in the match for the bronze medal. As a result, he settled for 5th place.
The turn of our female wrestlers - Emilia Budeanu, Elena Ţurcan, Mariana Eşanu and Mariana Iacub - will come a little later. The tournament will be over on July 31.
