UEFA appoints Pavel Cebanu as vice-president

Moldova Football Association president Pavel Cebanu received a high appointment in the Union of European Football Associations. He will be UEFA Football Committee's vice-president for the next two years.

Romania Football Association president Mircea Sandu who was reelected for his SIXTH term two weeks ago is the chairman of this committee. Mircea Sandu and Pavel Cebanu will be at the helm of this committee including such famous football persons as Luís Figo, Matthias Sammer, Demetrio Albertini, and Fernando Hierro.

Pavel Cebanu, Moldova Football Association president:

"It is a great honour to me. I will try to justify the confidence in me and Moldovan football".

Another Moldova Football Association official, MFA general secretary Nicolae Cebotari, remained a member of the UEFA Media Committee. Russian sports minister Vitaly Murko was appointed as this committee's president.

Cebanu and Cebotari will serve for a two-year term of office that will expire in summer 2013.
