Iulia Leorda claims bronze at Europeans

Moldovan athlete Iulia Leorda (49 kg) claimed a silver medal at the European Cadet Championship held in Warsaw, Poland.

The Moldovan wrestler won all of the three first fights, beating Louisa Niemesh (Germany), Jenna Hautala (Finland) and Shafag Muradzade (Azerbaijan), reaching the final.

However, the Moldovan athlete lost the final to Angela Vetoshkina and took second place.

Another Moldovan representative, Maria Canaţui (43 kg), lost the very first fight to Justine Fredericksen and got knocked out of the tournament.

Doina Roşcovan (46 kg) will start competing in the tournament on August 12.
